VIDEO: I Asked About Food Prices. The Minister Responded With an Insult.

November 18, 2025

As I was pressing the Prime Minister on why he refuses to scrap the fuel standards tax – a tax that drives up the cost to grow our food, package our food, and ship our food – the Minister of Jobs and Families got up, dodged the question, and accused Conservatives of not wanting women in the workforce.

This is disgusting, false, and hostile rhetoric. For a minister and a government that constantly accuse others of toxicity, the hypocrisy is staggering. As a Conservative and as a woman, I am appalled by how deliberately offensive and misleading that attack was.

Instead of taking responsibility for the affordability crisis they created, they spread slanderous lies about their opposition. Conservatives will continue to stand up for Canadians and fight for common-sense solutions: scrap the industrial carbon tax on fertilizer and farm equipment, scrap the 17-cent-per-litre fuel standard on gas and diesel, and scrap the billion-dollar food packaging tax.
